Greetings Kinder Parents, At morning meeting, I had several announcements to share with the class. As I have already written to you, my first ever Donors Choose Project was fully funded on Saturday evening after being approved for 45 min. Students were THRILLED to hear that we had random donors give to our classroom. In addition, we have a change in our paraprofessional. Ms. MacMillan will now be in our classroom on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays. Enrichment students typically see Ms. M for Art on Thursdays so she knows the students well. Lastly, Kindergarten friends were notified of our short week due to Parent Teacher Conferences and Veteran's Day. In addition, it is with great pleasure to announce that my next 3 Donors Projects have been approved this morning! All of the materials I am seeking benefit everyone of the students in my class this year. This week students are working on both capital P and J. Students start the week off with letter formation and handwriting practice. They also work on letter recognition and sound recognition with all of the letters they have learned. Today, students worked on letter formation with HWT chalkboards. This provides a new and fun way to practice their letters and handwriting! Math: -This morning, students were introduced to a new Everyday Math counting game. Over the last few weeks, we have been practicing working on numbers 0-10. This new game incorporated cooperation through partner work, fundamental counting skills and patience. Students needed to spin a paperclip on a wheel of numbers to see how many cubes to put down on their game board. Whoever placed all of their cubes down and reached the "FINISH" marking won that round. Below are some pictures from students working hard on counting and turn taking: Kindergarten Enrichment:
Social Studies- Kinder students worked hard last week on drawing who is in their family. Today we shared our sentence strips of paper with our classmates. After, we discussed where families could live i.e. houses, apartments, condos etc. Enrichment students were given an opportunity to draw what their home looks like. MICRO: Today we switched classroom jobs and students got paid for their previous weeks job. Kinder friends are building up quite the wallet with all of their money! Some students have been earning extra money by doing PHENOMENAL work during literacy and math centers. Ask your child if they have ever gotten work up on the CRAB WALL. On Wednesday students will have MUSIC with Mr. B! I look forward to seeing several of you for Parent-Teacher Conferences tomorrow! Conferences are 15 minutes long and are on a very tight schedule. Please do your best to be on time :) Thank you! Miss Froleiks Comments are closed.
