Second Week of SchoolHello Families, It has been so great getting to know your little ones. Students are adjusting to the classroom rules and routines very nicely. It is always a huge help for parents and guardians to continue conversations at home about following our classroom rules as well. Parent support is very key! This week, students dove into Fundations, Everyday Math and Handwriting without Tears curriculum. All has been super exciting and I love finding out what students previously know. Math: We have had lessons on pattern blocks and shapes, counting and matching. Students have been able to work as a whole group, in partners and even independently. Way to go kiddos!! Fundations: Currently, students are being exposed to common routines and language from the Fundations curriculum. Today, we worked on the letter Tt and I was able to see which students recognize it in both print and by sound. Handwriting Without Tears: On Tuesday, students were introduced to MAT MAN! They found out that all letters are made up of big lines, little lines, big curves and little curves. We practiced making uppercase A, B, C, D, E, F with the hands on wooden kit. The students really enjoyed this!! Lastly, I would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all of you for bringing in all supplies for your children and their classroom. Your child's classroom is stocked and ready to go for the year!! ON FRIDAY: WEAR RED, WHITE & BLUE for the Patriots!!! We have a field trip to the stadium behind our school. All students will be walking there around 12:50 PM. PLEASE make sure your child is wearing SNEAKERS...It will be more comfortable and easier to walk in for them. Comments are closed.
